Three short months ago, a record 800 industry healthcare
marketing and media execs flocked to Tavern on the Green in New York to
celebrate the industry's best work with its brightest stars and to be a part of
the excitement as the MM&M Award winners were revealed and called to the stage,
one-by-one.
Last year's honor roll featured GSW Worldwide and Roche for
Tamiflu, McCann HumanCare and Eisai/Pfizer for Aricept, Draftfcb and Eli Lilly
for Cymbalta, Harte-Hanks and AstraZeneca for Rhinocort Aqua, Ogilvy
Healthworld and Wyeth for know
Menopause.com, while AbelsonTaylor scooped six awards in
all, including work with Astellas/GlaxoSmithKline and Zimmer.
What does it mean to these winners? It means the work they
produced was of such a high standard in terms of its creativity and effectiveness
that our independent judging panel—47 of the industry's finest leaders and
thinkers—deemed it the best. And that's why these awards—YOUR awards—are the
ones that truly count.
Whether or not you were a winner in 2007, the good news is:
this is your year. At least, it could be if you put your best work forward.
The MM&M Awards 2008 program launches February 11. The
complete entry kit, containing details of all the categories, criteria and
entry requirements, is available for download at mmm-online.com. The closing
date for submissions is May 30, 2008.
As in previous years, we will assemble an independent panel
of expert judges. Last year we had senior marketing execs from Novartis, Merck,
Wyeth, GlaxoSmithKline, AstraZeneca, Bayer HealthCare, Schering-Plough and
Allergan, along with numerous agency and media leaders. As always, the identity
of the winners will be withheld until the MM&M Awards presentation dinner
in NewYork in the fall. If you've attended the event in the past, then you'll
know how much excitement this generates.
So it's time once again to set your genius free and make
2008 your year. To help you, we will be offering entry tips and advice along
the way—look out for an article in the March issue of MM&M on how to win an
award, along with a special webcast. Good luck!
