Stephen A. Smith & Associates, a Florida-based advertising agency, has promoted Dhaval Patel to media director from project coordinator.

Lanmark Group has tapped Michael Ventriello to serve as public relations manager. Ventriello will develop and supervise the planning and execution of Lanmark's public relations programs for clients.

Abelson-Taylor has appointed Geri Tauber to senior account supervisor and Sarah Cochran to account executive. Tauber was at EuroRSCG Life as group vice president of the Global Health Network's Chicago office.

Integrated Communications has named Lin Betancourt and Anthony Rotolo senior vice presidents, associate creative directors for copy and art, respectively. As a creative team, they have been assigned to the Novartis Cardiovascular Franchise. Betancourt and Rotola both come from Torre Lazur, where they developed the strategy and creative components for the launches of Sepracor's Lunesta and Xopenex, for the treatment of asthma.
