AMP honors ad sales prowess at 2005 Nexus Awards

The Association of Medical Publishers named Sharon Spector and Tom Hennessy as the recipients of its 2005 Nexus Awards for journal advertising sales prowess. The awards were presented April 6 at the Grand Hyatt New York. Spector (nee Gellman), national advertising manager for Dowden Health Media's Current Psychiatry and Current Psychiatry in Patient Care, won honors for sales on a specialty publication. Judges were impressed with her expertise and responsiveness, with one client remarking that she is "always organized and does not waste my time," and another saying she is "reliable and a great follow-up."
Tom Hennessy, group publisher of Haymarket Medical's Cortlandt Forum and The Clinical Advisor, won the award for multi-specialty or primary care journal sales. Clients said he "sells without pushing" and "always includes something unique to remember the presentation by."
