MANUFACTURERS Gilead Sciences has promoted Jim Meyers to SVP, commercial operations, North America. Meyers is responsible for the company's commercial organization in North America, including U.S. and Canadian sales, marketing and commercial operations, reporting to Kevin Young, Gilead's EVP, Commercial Operations. Meyers joined Gilead in 1996 as a regional sales director and relocated to the company's headquarters in 1997 to head the HIV marketing team. In 2001, he was named senior director of US sales, overseeing the expansion of the company's field sales organization in advance of the launch of Gilead's first product for the treatment of HIV. He was promoted to VP in 2002, and appointed to the position of VP of the US commercial organization in 2004. Prior to joining Gilead, Meyers held positions of increasing responsibility in sales, training, marketing and management with Zeneca Pharmaceuticals and Astra USA. AGENCIES InVentiv Health unit GSW Worldwide named Thomas Doyle copy supervisor in its New York office. Most recently, Doyle served as copy supervisor for Grey Healthcare Group where he developed ad campaigns and created marketing materials. Doyle previously spent two years as market research writer and analyst for StarrTrack Market Research, where he was responsible for creating marketing materials for the vitamins, supplements and minerals industry. He began his career as entertainment editor for The Arcata Eye newspaper. Doyle was responsible for writing stories as well as conceiving and implementing business and editorial strategies. DraftFCB HealthCare has hired Harold Corbran, Jr. as EVP/COO, the same title he has held since 2003 with former employer Euro RSCG Life. Corbran will be responsible for running general operations and identifying growth opportunities. He brings 30 years’ experience in healthcare, including stints with Euro’s Marketing Services Group, Pfizer legacy company Parke-Davis and medical education firms Healthscan and SCIENS Worldwide. SUPPLIERS John Haig has been named VP, marketing research of The Mattson Jack Group. Prior, Haig was associate professor of psychology at Philadelphia University. IMS Health announced that Gilles Pajot, EVP and president, global business management, has been named the company's COO. IMS also appointed Leslye Katz, IMS VP and controller, as SVP and CFO.
