Schering-Plough has made several appointments throughout its global operations. Krzystof Dziedzic and Aleda Chu were named as general managers for Poland and the Philippines, respectively. Tony Alvarez has been appointed to the newly created position of vice president, commercial operations, in Schering-Plough's Japan unit, known as Schering-Plough Kabushiki Kaisha (SPKK). He was vice president, global business planning and services, Schering-Plough. Leigh-Ann Nicholson-Errico has been promoted to vice president, human resources, global pharmaceutical business-U.S.

Xchange, CommonHealth's relationship marketing unit, has hired Celeste Cafiero as executive vice president, managing director. In her role, Cafiero will be responsible for the development and maintenance of key client relationships.

HealthSTAR Advertising has hired Maria Fasulo as executive vice president, director of client services. Fasulo most recently served as director of client services at Lyons Lavey Nickel Swift in New York City and she spent eight years at KPR.

Vox Medica has promoted Rita DiStefano Schuerman to vice president, group account supervisor in the company's Healthcare Marketing Communications Group. DiStefano Scheurman will direct strategic planning and programs for some of the company's largest accounts while working to expand business. Jim Shea has joined Vox Medica as a copyeditor/proofreader. Shea brings to the agency over 30 years' experience in editing, proofreading and writing in the medical communications, pharmaceutical and publishing industries.

Bimark Medical Communications has added Sibyl Shalo and Rob Koeppl, former staff members of Pharmaceutical Executive magazine, as vice president, publishing and director of sales, respectively.

Scientific Publishing Ltd., a medical chart and anatomical model company, has hired Ken Katz as vice president, sales. Katz was previously director of sales at Medi-Promotions. Susan Montanile also joins the firm as sales consultant in the East. She formerly served as vice president of marketing at Medi-Promotions. And Rich O'Donnell of Health Media Group has been contracted to represent the SPL family of products in the Midwest/West.
MEBN has hired Matthew Schambers as director of business development and editorial. His new role encompasses direct responsibility of all CME editorial schedules and business development for MEBN's portfolio of specialty specific periodical journals including CME-Today and CE-Today.
