Paul Thacker, a muckraking pharma nemesis who made a name for himself as an investigator for Senator Chuck Grassley (R-IA), is leaving the Project on Government Oversight, where he has been an investigator for a year since leaving the Senate, to serve as chief of investigations at United Republic, a new non-profit that will “shine a light on how political and economic forces have created the haves and the have nots.” “In this new position I’m going to expand into areas beyond science, medicine and the environment,” he said in an email. “I’ve spent almost a decade on these topics, and it’s going to be hard to leave it behind.”
