Mylan has received final FDA approval for its fluoxetine capsules—10 mg and 20 mg—a generic form of Lilly's antidepressant, Sarafem Pulvules Capsules. Sarafem Pulvules Capsules brought in roughly $19.2 million for the 12 months ending Sept. 30, according to IMS Health.
Two Johnson & Johnson subsidiaries (Janssen and ALZA) were found liable in the death of a Cicero, IL, woman, who died while using a Duragesic patch. A Chicago court awarded Janice DiCosolo's family with $16.5 million. DiCosolo's family argued that the defendants were aware of the patch's defect, which caused fentanyl to leak in large enough amounts to be fatal.
