The Association of Medical Publications named Maureen Reichert of the Journal of the American Medical Association and Diane Carpenteri of Cliggott’s AIDS Reader and Infectious Medicine as the winners of the 2007 Nexus Awards, presented March 28 in New York.
Reichert won the award for sales on a primary care publication, while Carpenteri won for sales on a specialty publication.
Accepting her award, Reichert spoke of the difficulty she had in moving from media planning to sales and appealed to publishers to acknowledge the hard work of media planners and buyers. She also joked: “My family would be so excited [about the award], if they just knew what I did for a living.”
The Nexus Awards, now in its 15th year, recognize excellence in ad sales for medical publications.
