CMPMedica Buys Physicians Practice

United Business Media has acquired Physicians Practice for its CMP medical media unit.
The publisher of the eponymous primary care practice management journal will be integrated into CMPMedica's marketing services operations in the US. Publisher Ken Karpay will remain in his role.

Physicians Practice circulates to 275,000 physicians nationwide through partnerships with hospitals and medical centers and hosts an online community for physicians through its Web site.

Terms of the deal were not disclosed. Physicians Practice was represented by DeSilva + Phillips. CMP titles include Consultant, Oncology and Psychiatric Times.
