CMS tech guru is out

Centers for Medicaid and Medicare's tech guru Tony Trenkle is no longer the agency's technology head. Modern Healthcare reports that the man who has been leading the government's electronic health records (EHR) push and has overseen Healthcare.gov's launch has been replaced by Niall Brennan, who will fill in as acting director. Modern Healthcare notes that CMS would not say if Healthcare.gov's disastrous rollout prompted Wednesday's news.
