AstraZeneca revenue dipped 2% in the third quarter to $7.8 billion as US revenue was buffeted by generic competition for Arimidex, Pulmicort Respules and Toprol-XL. US revenue was down 13% from the same period a year ago, when the company's take was helped by the pandemic flu vaccine. The company expects flat 2010 revenues compared to 2009.

WebMD founder Jeff Arnold has launched Sharecare.com, a website that aims, he said, “to become a trusted resource for accurate, multi-perspective and high quality answers to questions of health.” The site, backed by Discovery Communications and Sony Pictures Television, has lined up Dr. Mehmet Oz, of The Dr. Oz Show, to anchor its roster of celebrity contributors.
