Prescribing Reference, Inc. said more than 50,000 healthcare professionals have downloaded its eMPR desktop and mobile version of MPR drug databases, and announced a promotion whereby new registrants will be entered into a raffle to win their choice of a MacBook or Tablet PC, iPhone or SmartPhone. The winner will be announced in June. Prescribing Reference's parent, Haymarket, publishes MM&M.

Alkermes announced that it is restructuring its operations following the termination by Eli Lilly of the AIR Insulin program. With the restructuring, Alkermes is reducing its workforce by approximately 150 employees and closing its AIR commercial manufacturing facility in Chelsea, MA. The company is taking these actions based on its current expectations of the financial impact of Lilly's termination of the AIR Insulin program. The reduction in workforce, effective this week, represents approximately 18% of the company's total workforce.
