Eli Lilly entered into a marketing collaboration with device-maker Medtronic to extend the reach of both companies' diabetes products. Marketing and sales operations at both companies will work together to “develop new educational resources and classes around the initiation and intensive management of insulin, insulin pump therapy and continuous glucose monitoring,” according to a joint release.

 

Novartis acquired the generic injectable cancer drugs business of Austria's EBEWE Pharma for $1.2 billion, cash. EBEWE's products will be incorporated into Novartis's generics unit, Sandoz, which will expand to create a new unit in Unterach, Austria, according to a statement.
