Health tech firm Withings launched a free app designed as a health-data hub. Users enter weight, sleep, activity level and blood pressure data manually or upload it automatically from a partner device or app. The Personal Health Companion then converts data into trend lines designed to create a health snapshot.
AstraZeneca introduced Prostate Assistant, an app designed to help patients with prostate cancer monitor their progress including symptoms and PSA levels, access tips and track medical appointments and contacts. It's available on iTunes and in the Google Play app store.
J&J's Janssen unit started Care4Today Mobile Adherence, a secure messaging platform, mobile app and website which reminds patients to take medications, refill prescriptions and visit HCPs. It works with iPhone, BlackBerry and Android devices, as well as many feature phones.Chicago-based agency Topin added Laura Pionek as a digital producer. Pionek ran her own digital shop out of Denver, CO, and has had digital roles on the corporate side at consumer companies such as Allstate.
