The National Institute of Health (NIH) has partnered with the Wikimedia Foundation, the nonprofit operator of Wikipedia, to "make health and science information more accessible and reliable," according to a statement. After attending "Wikipedia Academy," NIH staff can contribute to Wikipedia and help the online encyclopedia develop best practices.
Online diabetes portal dLife aired an extensive interview with musician Nick Jonas of the Jonas Brothers on July 19th. Jonas was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes four years ago, and discussed the challenges he has faced with the disease. The interview aired on dLifeTV, on CNBC, as well as on the website: www.dlife.com.
UnitedHealth Group announced a partnership with Cisco to build Connected Care, a national telehealth networking program that patients can use to access physicians and specialists in real-time outside of the office. Video terminals will be installed in office buildings, malls and other locations, and will be introduced via an 18-wheel mobile clinic. The mobile tour commenced on July 9 in Minneapolis, before heading to Chicago by way of Washington, DC.
