Elsevier launched a Clinical Solutions Group within its health sciences division to house journals, books and clinical decision support tools aimed at medical researchers, practitioners, providers and payors.

Noting studies showing that it takes as much as 17 years to translate research findings into practice, the group will aim to increase the pace of physician adoption of findings and improve patient health outcomes.

The new unit will be headed by Randy Charles, EVP. He said: “Combining our print and electronic divisions, our periodical and book divisions and evidence and experience-based content will fuel innovation through improved coordination.”
