The FDA is set to review another drug that could join the prescription painkiller mix today. NPR reports that the latest pain reliever combines morphine and oxycodone. The all-in-one medication called Moxduo would be the first to combine the two pain relievers.

COO of drugmaker QRXPharma Ed Rudnic tells NPR that patients end up taking less of each drug with this medication than they would if prescribed both separately.

Painkillers have become a hot topic among lawmakers and addiction specialists because of a rise in opioid abuse. Massachusetts recently tried to ban opioid Zohydro in an effort to curb opioid abuse, but a court found the ban was unconstitutional.
