The director general of the European Federation of Pharmaceutical Industries and Associations, Richard Bergstrom, told Fox News that other drugmakers will likely follow AstraZeneca's April move to scrap payments for doctors to attend international medical congresses. GlaxoSmithKline said it will continue funding such trips.

The CME Coalition announced its official launch. The coalition has six founding members and will monitor federal and state governments for activities that might impact continued provision of CME as well as lobby Congress about the importance of protecting the access of medical professionals to CME.

DIME launched a web browser designed to facilitate internet searching-and-learning, in which clinicians hunt online for answers to clinical questions for credit. The tool, iPointOfCare, integrates across all browsers and devices and is optimized for mobile.
