The National Commission for Certification of CME Professionals (NC-CME) said that 100% of eligible members of the Certified CME Professional (CCMEP) Class of September 2008 have registered for their two-year extension of certification.

The Alliance for CME (ACME) was set to vote on a name change last month, says George Mejicano, MD, president. The vote followed a broadening of ACME's mission to be an “all-inclusive education platform” (MM&M February 2011).

KnowledgePoint360 Group named Mark Fleischer group president of both the Physicians World communications division and the Physicians World Speakers Bureau, a new position.

The CME Coalition, a lobbying group, hosted two briefings on Capitol Hill highlighting the importance of CME in improving healthcare and providing insight into breakthroughs in breast cancer and HIV research.

The American College of Physician Executives (ACPE) has named Peter Angood, MD, as its new CEO. Angood, currently  president and CEO of a Boston-based healthcare consulting firm, replaces Barry Silbaugh, MD.
