Pubmed.gov, hosted by the National Library of Medicine, is an invaluable tool that helps me answer healthcare scientific questions. I have used it since medical school, and although it has undergone some modifications, its search functionality remains unobtrusive. After entering search terms, the site's search algorithm generates a list of relevant publications. It provides abstracts for each publication in its database; many hyper-linked to the publisher's website. Equally importantly for each retrieved publication, the site provides a list of related publications allowing for quick exploration of publications that may not have originally been identified. Because of its ease of use, vast database of healthcare publication, robust searching algorithm, and global accessibility, Pubmed.gov has transformed the way in which healthcare scientists interact with the literature.
