Dove Medical Press is launching a series of video abstracts of papers from their 100-plus open-access, peer-reviewed medical and scientific journals. The abstracts, each presented by the paper's author, are from one to four minutes long, giving an overview of the content and motivation behind the published work. 

Monthly Prescribing Reference (MPR) has released the MPR Mobile App for Apple iOS and Android platforms. It offers HCPs a free Drug Interactions Checker with a database of nearly 7,000 agents—and interaction data. MPR is published by Prescribing Reference, Inc., a division of Haymarket Media, which publishes MM&M

Unbound Medicine, a provider of knowledge management solutions for healthcare, is now in a licensing relationship with medical publisher Elsevier. The Harriet Lane Handbook for Apple iOS, Android and BlackBerry is the first mobile digital product to be offered through this partnership.

Apple has a new section in its iTunes store for apps that cater to HCPs. The physician-friendly division has apps in six categories: reference, educational, EMR & patient monitoring, imaging, point-of-care and personal care (for consumers).
