Quadrant HealthCom, The Doctor's Channel to offer video 'CliffsNotes'

Quadrant HealthCom Inc. (QHI) announced a partnership with The Doctor's Channel to provide select video reviews of articles on two QHI titles: Cutis and The Female Patient.

The video reviews will be located at both of the journals' websites, and on The Doctor's Channel site, allowing docs to quickly review top stories in women's health and dermatology.

In addition to providing a summary and the key points of an article, the short videos will feature interviews with authors and leading authorities, according to a company statement. Initially, video will be available for one article from each of the journals each month, although more articles—and QHI titles—could be added later on, according to Mike Banks, co-founder and VP at The Doctor's Channel.

“We're beginning with these two titles, and hoping to incorporate more, such as the American Journal of Orthopedics or Clinician Reviews,” said Banks.

JoAnn Wahl, SVP and managing director of medical education at QHI, said: “We think this medium will provide an interesting extension of our journal offerings and an opportunity for practicing clinicians to see and hear highlights from our national thought-leading authors.”

The Doctor's Channel will roll out several specialty newsletters in the coming months, some of which will incorporate the QHI video reviews, said Banks. The Doctor's Channel is looking for exclusive sponsors for the video reviews, according to Banks.
