The Oncologist launches two apps

The Oncologist, a monthly cancer journal published by AlphaMed Press, launched new mobile applications for the iPhone and iPad.
The iPad app invites users to turn digital pages with an index finger, replicating the experience of reading the journal in traditional print, said Marty Murphy, AlphaMed's VP, global business development. The app goes beyond the traditional journal with “full-screen, mechanism of action videos,” said Murphy.
Both apps are free and ad-supported, with AdMob serving banners on the iPhone app, said Murphy, adding that Sanofi-Aventis, Novartis and Bristol-Myers Squibb had already signed on.
