WeissComm promotes Weiser to president, COO

WeissComm Partners has promoted Diane Weiser to the position of president and chief operating officer. Weiser, previously COO, will continue to report to WeissComm's founder and CEO, Jim Weiss, who also will become chairman, according to a company release.

“WeissComm is putting a lot of focus on expanding geographically,” said Weiser, describing her agenda as “moving [WeissComm] to the next phase of growth.” In addition to an office in Chicago, which opened last June, a London office is slated to open during the third quarter, and a Boston office will open “within the next six to 12 months,” said Weiser.

The public relations agency is “solely focused on healthcare,” explained Weiser. “Our client list reflects all sectors, and provides a cross-section of abilities in the industry, including pharmaceuticals, bio-tech, device, diagnostic and health services.” Prior to WeissComm, Weiser worked for Ketchum, as the director of healthcare practice in San Francisco, leading the Genentech Avastin business. Before that, Weiser ran the healthcare practice at Ketchum's New York office, which was the lead agency for the global Lipitor business. She has worked on leading company accounts, including Pfizer, Roche, Allergan and Aventis.
