The Healthcare Businesswomen’s Association named Pfizer Vaccines President Mark Swindell its 2010 Honorable Mentor.
Swindell, who was SVP and general manager for Wyeth’s pharmaceutical business unit before moving into his current role following the Pfizer-Wyeth merger, previously headed commercial operations for Wyeth in Europe. HBA President Susan Torroella praised his “deep personal commitment to the advancement of women in the healthcare industry” and “all of his contributions to the organization, particularly his support of the HBA Greater Philadelphia Chapter and to the many women he has mentored and inspired.”
Said Swindell: “I have been fortunate to have benefitted from the guidance and counsel of several mentors in my career, and have always strived to foster the professional growth and development of others so each individual can realize their full potential.”
HBA also named Flashpoint Medica founder Charlene Prounis as its 2010 Star Volunteer.
Earlier in the month, HBA named GlaxoSmithKline’s Deirdre Connelly, president, North American pharmaceuticals, as its 2010 Woman of the Year. She and Swindell will be honored at the group’s Woman of the Year Luncheon on Thursday, May 6 at the Hilton New
