McCann launches experiential marketing shop

McCann Worldgroup is launching a health and wellness experiential marketing practice under the umbrella of its Momentum network.

The agency, Momentum Wellness, will be jointly managed by McCann Healthcare and Momentum Worldwide, which handles events and promotions, sponsorships, retail and point of sale marketing for big blue chip brands like Verizon, Coca-Cola, Budweiser and American Express.

The shop, based in New York, will focus on experiential marketing and strategic partnerships for both professional and consumer audiences. Founding clients include Cleveland Clinic, Quaker Oats, the American Diabetes Association, the Multiple Myeloma Research Foundation and Reader's Digest.

It will be led by president John Hopper, former CEO of Power Marketing Partners and managing partner of several WPP agencies, and global wellness director Michael Semler of Momentum Worldwide's healthcare practice.

McCann Healthcare clients include GlaxoSmithKline, Johnson & Johnson, Pfizer, Nestle, Novartis and USAID.
