Haymarket Medical finalizes JAAPA publishing deal
Academy of Physicians Assistants (AAPA) last week to become publisher of its monthly peer-reviewed medical journal beginning with the January 2005 issue.
The AAPA awarded Haymarket Medical the publishing contract for
the Journal of the American Academy of Physician Assistants
(JAAPA) after a competitive pitch this summer.
As reported in the Oct. 22 edition of MM&M News Brief, Dominic
Barone has been named JAAPA's publisher.
"This is a tremendous arrangement between two great organizations
that will show a tremendous return in benefits to the members of our
organization," said Stephen Crane, executive vice president and chief executive of the AAPA."The AAPA and Haymarket Medical will partner in the development of the journal" ensuring to keep PAs "up to date" in a growing and changing industry." JAAPA is currently published by Advanstar/Medical Economics. The journal leads its field in readership and ad exposure with a circulation of 63,000 clinically practicing PAs and PA students and generated roughly $1 million in revenue last year, according to industry estimates.
