FDA testing revealed that lots of Medisca's L-citrulline did not contain the drug, but did test positive for medication used to treat vertigo.

The regulator announced the testing results Monday, three days after notifying healthcare professionals of adverse events associated with some of Medisca's medication. L-citrulline is used to treat rare genetic disorders usually found in children.

Medisca has recalled eight lots of the drug.
