MedPage secures funds to expand

Medical news provider MedPage Today has secured $2.1 million in venture capital that will be used to expand news coverage and new product offerings, the firm said in a statement.

The company also said it is adding Peter Frishauf, who helped found the Web site Medscape in 1995, to its board, along with a representative of Milestone Venture Partners, which led MedPage’s latest VC round.

MedPage offers Teaching Brief articles, co-developed by the University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine, Office of CME. The articles alert clinicians to breaking news and offer CME credit to physicians.
