MSN announced the launch of My Health Info, a new site for consumers that incorporates Microsoft's HealthVault profiles into a comprehensive offering that includes tools and widgets to organize health information.
The site, located on MSN's health and fitness homepage, provides tools for monitoring condition specific variables, such as high blood pressure or diabetes, as well as general health stats, such as body-mass index. Consumers can customize individual dashboards by adding or deleting widgets. Eventually, advertising and sponsorships will be incorporated into the site, according to Lisa Gurry, director, MSN.
The website also offers savings on HealthVault-enabled devices, such as free delivery or rebates on blood pressure monitors. The site allows caregivers to access profiles of multiple family members at one time, and delivers health news based on topics of interest. The site isn't available on mobile devices yet, but Gurry expects Microsoft Silverlight, a multi-platform video and graphics technology and partner on My Health Info, to add that capability moving forward. IQ Interactive's Atlanta, GA, office worked on the design and engineering of the site. “My Health Info demonstrates how we are continuing to provide consumers with the trusted and relevant tools they need to make more informated decisions in support of their health and the health of their families,” said David Cerino, GM of consumer health, Microsoft health solutions group, in a statement.
