Canadian drug firm Labopharm has appointed industry veteran Mary Anne Heino to the newly created position of VP of sales and marketing with the responsibility of overseeing the company's global sales and marketing function. Heino will also assume the role of president of Labopharm's wholly owned subsidiary, Labopharm USA, in which she will be responsible for developing Labopharm's presence in the US.
The Patient Marketing Group (PMG) has announced the following new hires. Brian Mercer has been appointed chief creative officer. Mercer was a founding member of Quantum, CommonHealth’s DTC/Healthcare agency. Annie Eleosida has been named PMG’s new creative director. She was most recently with Flashpoint Medica as VP, associate creative director, copy. Brian Skene, an Emmy-nominated medical writer and producer, has been hired as senior copywriter. Jackie Budd has been hired as group account director of the account management/business development department from CommonHealth where she was an SVP. Stefan Legazpi has been hired as account coordinator/administrator. The technology department has added a new Web developer, Scott Klink. Laura Wallin has been hired as contact center manager from Ortho McNeil Janssen. Laura Minarck, registered dietitian, nutritional counselor, has joined PMG’s team of registered dietitians to provide medical nutritional therapy for consumers enrolled in PMG educational programs.
Indicia Medical Education has added Kia Gray as educational program manager.
Gray has produced and contributed to activities in multiple therapeutic areas including cardiology, gastrointestinal disease, immunology, neurology, psychiatry, rheumatology, and women's health.
Healthcare Data Solutions (HDS) has hired Alyssa Bentley as VP of sales responsible for sales, business development and strategic partnerships. Prior to HDS, Bentley was a business development executive for SK&A Information Services. HDS has also added Erich Kaiser as VP, database operations. Kaiser is an information services veteran, who, for the past 16 years, has been responsible for custom programming and data fulfillment operations for infoUSA, the largest list and database provider in the US. In his new role, Kaiser is responsible for HDS' proprietary databases, client CRM websites, file matching processes, new product development and custom database development.
The Schwartz Group, a provider of specialized tele-services to the pharmaceutical and healthcare industries, has added Lissa Nakhwa in the newly created position of manager of client services. Nakhwa has been developing and executing marketing programs in the healthcare and technology sectors for the past eight years and has extensive experience working in healthcare settings, holding a variety of positions related to marketing and continuing medical education.
Waterfront Media, online publisher of Everydayhealth.com has hired Lynn Weiss-Kane as vice president and publisher, and Margit Detweiler as executive editor. Weiss-Kane joins Everydayhealth.com from Revolution Health, where she served as the director, strategic partnerships, pharmaceutical and devices, and helped set the sales and launch strategy. She previously worked at media companies including Yahoo!, WebMD, and MSN. For the last seven years, Detweiler has worked for AOL, most recently as editorial director for AOL Health and AOL Diet and Fitness. In 2005 she successfully re-conceived AOL's Diet and Fitness channel, creating the highly successful America Takes It Off program.
