MANUFACTURERS Novo Nordisk has announced the appointment of Dana Haza as senior director of the National Changing Diabetes Program. Most recently, Haza was with the US Department of Health & Human Services (HHS), where she served as interim director of the office of programs and coordination in the office of the national coordinator for health information technology. David Stern has been promoted to EVP of metabolic and endocrinology at Serono. Stern will manage all commercial operations for the US market relating to the company’s metabolic product portfolio, including sales, marketing and medical affairs functions. Previously, Stern was VP of marketing, metabolic endocrinology. Genentech has announced four VP appointments: William Anderson to VP, sales and marketing, immunology; Scott Carmer to VP, sales and marketing, Rituxan immunology; Pamela Klein to VP, clinical oncology, hematology and HER family; and Mary Sliwkowski to VP regulatory affairs, chemistry manufacturing and controls. AGENCIES Lanmark Group has announced the promotion of Tracey Clayton to director of operations. Previously, Clayton held the position of operations manager at Lanmark Group. In her new position, Clayton will be responsible for a wide variety of tasks, including directing and overseeing Lanmark Group’s corporate and human resource policies, management objectives and operational initiatives. Interlink Healthcare Communications has hired Mike McMullen as assistant art director. McMullen has eight years of advertising experience, most recently with Cannonball Advertising in Philadelphia, and holds a BA degree in communications from the University of New Mexico. Xchange, the relationship-marketing unit of CommonHealth, has announced three new hires and a promotion. John Clark joins Xchange as EVP, managing director. Most recently, Clark was employed at GSW Worldwide, where he developed professional and consumer CRM programs. Charles Di Stefano comes to Xchange as VP, account director. Before this, Di Stefano served as management supervisor at Rapp Collins Worldwide. Janice Furie will serve as account supervisor. Furie was previously employed by Pfizer as a marketing manager. Joann Rude has been promoted from business manager to senior business manager. Rude has been with Xchange for more than two years. Kane and Finkel has announced three new hires. Tara D’Andrea joins as account group supervisor. D’Andrea will focus on the agency’s diabetes and cardiovascular accounts. Wendy Wittkofski will serve as editor. Wittkofski has 15 years of editorial experience in healthcare communications, consumer advertising and financial services. Audrey Ragozzino joins K&F as copy supervisor. Ragozzino previously worked with K&F as a freelance writer. SUPPLIERS Contract sales provider PDI has named Mylan Laboratories’ Michael Marquad as CEO effective May 11. Marquad replaces Larry Ellberger, PDI’s interim CEO since October 2005. Most recently, Marquad was VP of Mylan Labs and president of Mylan Bertek Pharmaceuticals. Prior to Mylan, Marquad served as SVP of US sales for Wyeth Pharmaceuticals from 1996 to 2004 and held a number of positions at Lederle Laboatories’ division of American Cynamid Company, which was acquired by Wyeth in 1995.
