MANUFACTURERS Novo Nordisk has named Howard Levy executive director of clinical research-hemostasis in the company’s clinical development, medical, and regulatory affairs department. Henry Cortina has been named associate VP of information technology in the United States. Levy replaces Marcus Carr, who has been promoted to VP of Novo Nordisk Research US. For the past five years, Levy served as medical director for acute care at Eli Lilly. Cortina comes to Novo Nordisk with more than 20 years of executive information technology experience. AGENCIES Clinical Connexion Healthcare Communications has promoted Kim Wishnow-Per to EVP.  Before joining Connexion, Wishnow-Per held multiple high-level positions in marketing and sales management within the pharmaceutical and diagnostic industries and was named a 2006 Rising Star by the Healthcare Businesswomen’s Association. Blue Diesel has hired Chris Drew as VP of technology. Prior to Blue Diesel, Drew served as managing director, professional services at Affiliated Resource Group. Drew also served as managing consultant for the central region financial services group at Microsoft. The Navicor Group named David Westaway VP of account services. Prior to this, Westaway oversaw a range of marketing activities while at Pharmacia in roles including national account director, VP of oncology business US, senior director of marketing, and group business director. Most recently, he served as chief operating officer for Zivena, an emerging specialty pharmaceutical company focused on oncology. SUPPLIERS IMS Health announced the resignation of Nancy Cooper, SVP and chief financial officer, who will leave the company following a brief transition period. Cooper is joining CA, a leading IT management software company. HealthEd, a patient education marketing company, has announced three staff additions: Jill Kaplan, Molly Henry and Anne Martin. Kaplan will serve as a director of health education. Before joining HealthEd, Kaplan worked for the St. Barnabas Cancer Center, where she developed patient, caregiver, and community psycho-education programs. Henry has been hired as manager of health education. Previously, she served as director for the Alzheimer’s Association - Greater Illinois Chapter. Martin has joined HealthEd as a coordinator for the health education. Prior to HealthEd, she was director of medical student and resident affairs at the California Academy of Family Physicians.
