AGENCIES CommonHealth’s Ferguson named Rich Levy president. He replaces David Chapman, who became a managing partner of CommonHealth. Levy was previously EVP, COO at the firm, whose clients include Merck Oncology, Hospira and Dendrite. He reports to CommonHealth president and CEO Matt Giegerich. GSW Worldwide, an inVentiv Health company, has hired Michael DePirro and Lisa Garrone, former senior vice presidents/group creative directors at Deutsch, to lead the creative department in their New York office. DePirro and Garrone will both serve as EVPs/creative directors and will report to Art Chavez, president of the New York office. AbelsonTaylor has promoted Karen Straka to manager of presentation support, Jerry Oskroba to Mac systems administrator, Nicole Woodard to associate copywriter, and hired Matthew Holub as clinical research associate. SUPPLIERS The Ziment Group, a consortium of leading healthcare and pharmaceutical market research companies has announced that former CEO Howard Ziment has been promoted to chairman. His role will now include assisting with the expansion of the Kantar Group’s healthcare offering. The Ziment Group is part of Kantar, the information and consultancy division of WPP Group. Lynnette Cooke will assume the role of CEO The Ziment Group in addition to her present title of CEO of the custom research division. MEDIA Medicine Reports, publishers of Faculty of 1000 Medicine, has appointed of Toni Fournier to head up its US initiative. Fournier has worked in medical publishing for more than 12 years, holding various positions in sales, marketing and business development with Mosby, a division of Elsevier Health Science, Lippincott Williams & Wilkins, Blackwell Publishing and most recently Nature Publishing Group. Fournier will be based in Boston, and will report to Darren Webster, director of special sales.
