AbelsonTaylor has hired David Levin as director of DTC. Before joining AbelsonTaylor, Levin was VP and account director at Draft (now DraftFCB), where he developed non-traditional and customer-relationship marketing programs for Kaiser Permanente and Baxter Bioscience. At Deutsch, where he spent six years, Levin worked extensively with Novartis and Pfizer on DTC campaigns and led new business efforts.
CommonHealth professional advertising agency Altum announced the following promotions and new hires. Judy Accardi has been promoted from VP, director of business management to VP, operations. Lisanne Budwick has been promoted from group art supervisor to VP, group art supervisor. Anita Caruso has advanced from group art director to group art supervisor. Barbara Leistrum joins Altum as group art supervisor Euro RSCG Life. Steven Newdorf joins as senior business manager. Previously, Newdorf worked as a senior production manager at DVC Worldwide, a marketing and advertising company. Eva Scartozzi joins as business manager. Previously, Scartozzi was employed as a senior production manager by echo Torre Lazur. Melanie Gargano joins as an art director. Most recently she worked as a freelance art director for Chock full o'Nuts, a Sara Lee company. Nisha Rana, joins Altum as a copywriter. Prior to joining Altum, Rana was employed by Nu Way Advertising, a New York City-based South Asian marketing firm. Patrice Nora comes to Altum as an assistant art director. Nora previously worked as an assistant graphic designer at Steps to Literacy, a catalog company.
Harte-Hanks promoted Mark Zacharias to managing director, direct marketing. He will lead the company's Shawnee, KS, facility, which specializes in pharmaceutical marketing services such as detail-by-mail and sample fulfillment and provides data center, teleservices and direct mail support for Harte-Hanks pharmaceutical and healthcare clients, among other companies.
PharmaNet Development Group, a provider of drug development services to branded pharmaceutical, biotechnology, generic drug and medical device companies, has named former Merck marketing president Per Wold-Olsen to its board of directors. Wold-Olsen, most recently served as president, human health intercontinental and responsible for Europe, Eastern Europe, Middle East/Africa, India, Latin America and Canada regions at Merck. From 1997 to 2005, he served as president, human health Europe, Middle East/Africa and worldwide human health marketing and was a member of the Merck management committee from 1994 to 2006.
