Adolor named former COO Michael Dougherty its CEO and a member of its board of directors. Dougherty succeeds David Madden who has served as interim CEO since August 2005. Madden will continue as chairman of the company's board of directors.
Aerovance has hired David Happel as chief commercial officer responsible for moving toward commercialization the company's portfolio of biologics, including lead candidates Aerovant, for the treatment of severe asthma and Aerolytic, for the treatment of cystic fibrosis. Prior to joining Aerovance, Happel served in executive positions with Chiron’s biopharmaceuticals division. As VP, pulmonology, he led the highly successful pulmonary business unit, including the sales and marketing functions for TOBI (tobramycin inhalation solution for the treatment of patients living with cystic fibrosis), Chiron's largest and most profitable pharmaceutical product. Before this, he managed Chiron's worldwide infectious and respiratory disease product portfolio. Earlier in his career, Happel was the senior director for Intermune’s pulmonary business unit, where he launched the company's US commercial initiatives for Actimmune. In addition, he has held several product marketing and sales positions on a global basis with Parke-Davis/Pfizer.
The Curry Rockefeller Group of Companies, dedicated to thought-leader-focused medical education, has promoted John Norwood to associate editorial director, from senior project editor. Norwood joined the company in May.
Dudnyk has hired Bernadette Foy as VP, account group supervisor. Foy joins Dudnyk from Mangos, a full-service advertising agency based in Malvern, PA, where she recently served as VP, account manager. Laurie Bartolomeo has re-joined Dudnyk as senior copy supervisor from Saatchi & Saatchi Healthcare Innovations where she worked as a copy supervisor.
Palio Communications, an inVentiv Health company, has hired Pamela Henaghan as an administrative assistant, Donna Lama as a senior graphic designer, Michael Radigan as an assistant editor, Kevin Schinnerer as a graphic designer and Carey Wodehouse as an editor.
Pacific Communications has promoted Kristal Babbs to VP, management supervisor, with responsibility for the Zymar (Allergan) business and global retina accounts. Babbs, who had been group account supervisor for Zymar, has been with the agency for four years.
