Genzyme named William "Bill" Sibold as head of multiple sclerosis and Rogério Vivaldi as head of rare diseases, two businesses the firm says constitute its core focus following the integration with Sanofi. Sibold joined from Avanir Pharmaceuticals, where he was chief commercial officer. Prior to Avanir, he was SVP of US commercial for Biogen Idec and also had headed its Asia Pacific region. Vivaldi joined Genzyme in 1997 and has held posts of increasing responsibility, most recently president of the firm's renal and endocrine business and SVP/president of its Latin America region.

Point-of-care media company AccentHealth hired Andrew Schulman as VP of marketing, to lead the company's corporate brand strategy, publicity and ad sales/marketing initiatives. Most recently, Schulman was the director of marketing for NBC News' Emerging Media Platforms, where he developed the sales/marketing programs in support of the division's health and wellness initiative, “Be Well. Be Healthy.” He also managed the sales/marketing efforts for the NBC News portfolio of brands.
