Nastech Pharmaceutical Company
has promoted Gordon Brandt to president. Brandt previously held the title of EVP, clinical research and medical affairs. Steven Quay will remain CEO.

AstraZeneca has named Penny Stoker as VP, global human resources services, effective Jan. 1. In this new position, Stoker will oversee the development and implementation of processes and improved technologies that enhance the global delivery of human resources. Stoker joined AstraZeneca in July 2004 as vice president, US human resources. 
 
AGENCIES
Publicis Healthcare Communications Group (PHCG) announced that Linda Szyper will assume the newly created position of executive director, PHCG global development effective Jan. 1. Szyper will be based out of New York and report directly to Nick Colucci, president and CEO. Szyper most recently held the position of president, Publicis Medical Education Group.

Pivot has added Julia Heinrich as account supervisor, with primary responsibility for an agency of record assignment in the muscle relaxant category. Mark Vergalito has joined as director of graphic services, with responsibility for overseeing studio resources for the agency. Kathleen Creighton has joined as account coordinator.               

SUPPLIERS
GfK V2, appointed Suzanne Berg, Ray Chan and Shiv Raman as senior vice presidents and strategic business unit heads, and Tom Hinkel as vice president.

MEDIA
Advanstar named Laura Wagner VP, primary care. Wagner, who is VP, operations for the publisher's life sciences group, will continue in that role while assuming day-to-day responsibilities on all primary care products and activities on a stable of brands including Medical Economics, Drug Topics, Geriatrics, Formulary and Managed Healthcare Executive. She reports to EVP Steve Morris. Advanstar also named Tara Stultz executive editorial director for primary care and expanded senior art director Pete Seltzer's responsibilities to include managing the healthcare art department in Woodcliff Lake, NJ. Stultz was previously editor-in-chief of Formulary and served on the editorial board of Advanstar's new web portal, ModernMedicine.com. Both she and Seltzer report to Wagner.
