Human Genome Sciences announced that John LaMattina, PhD, who retired in late 2007 as president of Pfizer Global Research and Development, has been appointed to the company's board of directors.

Williams-Labadie, part of the Publicis Healthcare Communications Group network, announced the promotion of Chris Rogers to senior art director. 

MEDIA 
Elsevier announced that Brian Nairn, CEO of Elsevier Health Sciences, is retiring from the company. Michael Hansen, the former CEO of Harcourt Assessment has been appointed to succeed Nairn and will report to Erik Engstrom, Elsevier's CEO; effective June 9. Nairn will remain with the company during a transition period.
