MANUFACTURERS
GlaxoSmithKline has appointed Dan Troy as SVP and general council. Troy will join the company on September 2, 2008. Troy is currently a partner at Washington law firm Sidley Austin, LLP. He was formerly a chief counsel for the FDA.

Human Genome Sciences has appointed David Southwell to its board of directors. Southwell previously worked at Sepracor, where he served as EVP, chief financial officer.

Biogen Idec has named Brian Posner to its board of directors. Posner was formerly employed as CEO and co-chief investment officer at ClearBridge Advisors LLC, a division of Legg Mason Inc., an asset management company.

AGENCIES
Inventiv's Selva Group named Lynne Marie Denis event supervisor. Denis joins Selva from the Society of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists of Canada, where she was events and conference manager. 

Concentric Pharma Advertising named Robin Goodrich strategic planner. Goodrich joins from the Princeton office of German marketing consultancy Metaplan.
