Millennium: The Takeda Oncology Company has announced the hiring of two new executives: Isabelle Mercier, vice president, marketing, for the company's commercial organization, and Claire Thom, senior vice president, portfolio management. Mercier was previously vice president of Taxotere marketing, at Sanofi-Aventis. Thom was previously responsible for oversight and implementation across several global therapeutic areas at Takeda Pharmaceutical Company, in Japan.
 
Lilly has appointed John Lechleiter as chairman of the company's board of directors, effective January 1, 2009. Lechleiter is also president and CEO at Lilly.
 
Aradigm, a specialty pharmaceutical company focused on inhalation products for the treatment of severe respiratory diseases, has appointed Nancy Pecota as chief financial officer, effective September 22, 2008. Pecota will replace Norman Halleen, and report to Igor Gonda, Aradigm's president and CEO.
