Life science company WellGen, Inc. announced the appointment of Roddy Carter to president and CEO. Carter succeeds Robert Bertoldi, who served as interim CEO. Prior to the appointment, Carter was a principal at Aquila Life Sciences, a consulting firm. Before that, Carter served as VP, clinical development at Reliant Pharmaceuticals, now owned by GlaxoSmithKline. Between 2004 and 2006, Carter was senior medical director at Pfizer.


Medical device company Core Essence Orthopaedics announced that John Moran has joined the company as chairman of the board, effective immediately. Moran joins board directors Tony Dimun, Leonard Gordon, Shawn Huxel and Zev Scherl. He currently sits on the board of Paradigm Spine, Ranier Technology, Anika Therapeutics and Power Medical Interventions.
