has announced the appointment of Sophia Tolstoy Penkrat as senior promotion manager. Penkrat was previously creative services manager at In Style magazine. She also held positions at Southern Living, Country Home, GQ, Details and Primedia.
Beth Scholz has been promoted to VP of the CMPMedica US oncology and radiology divisions. Previously, Scholz served CMPMedica US as publisher of the Oncology Publishing Group, which includes Oncology and Oncology News International. Kathy Mischak adopted new responsibilities within the Oncology Publishing Group in her new position, group publisher for oncology and radiology. In her previous role, Mischak oversaw Diagnostic Imaging as the journal's publisher. Marcy Holeton becomes SVP and general manager of the CMPMedica US primary care and specialties businesses. Previously, Holeton served CMPMedica US as a group VP and general manager. Beatrix Eriksen becomes VP of research, marketing and circulation and will report to Marcy Holeton. Eriksen served as group director of research and circulation for CMPMedica US prior to accepting her new position. On the operational side of the business, CMPMedica US has promoted four individuals. Denise Brady, who previously served as VP of finance, has been promoted to SVP of finance and operations. Ann Buckley has been promoted to VP of human resources from executive director of human resources and operations. Tom Mahon, formerly business and operations director, will now serve as VP of finance and operations. Steve Sanborn, who previously held the position of group production manager, becomes group director of manufacturing and production.
Continuing medical education programs provider CME LLC has announced a new structure and management team. Effective January 1, Melissa Warner assumes the role of SVP and general manager, and Rich Caracio, Bob Donahoe and Peter Payerli become VPs of education initiatives. They join Niki Oquist, MD, FAAP, SVP of medical affairs, and Barbara Winkelman, VP of marketing and multimedia, to complete the management team. CME LLC also appointed Paul Koren as executive director of education initiatives.
