CommonHealth said Christopher Tama, an industry veteran and recent president of ProCom, has assumed the role of president at Ferguson. Ferguson is CommonHealth's founding professional advertising and promotion agency; ProCom is a Ferguson sister company and a CommonHealth
medical education unit. Tama brings extensive knowledge and a diverse background to Ferguson,with 26 years of experience in healthcare communications, 19 years of which were dedicated to work on the client side of the business. Throughout his career, Tama has held a wide variety of senior-level positions at Novartis, Searle, and Pharmacia, overseeing numerous U.S. and global brand launches.
Lois Smith has joined MediZine as VP of sales and marketing, effective immediately. In her new role, Smith is representing MediZine's cross platform programs including MediZine's Healthy Living, REMEDY, Diabetes Focus, Diabetes Focus Espanol, MDminute, and REMEDY Direct
and REMEDYlife.com. Prior to joining MediZine, Smith served as account manager, Thomson/PDR.She was responsible for preparing and executing marketing programs for pharmaceutical brand teams using the PDR portfolio, including multi-media and multi-channelproducts including print and e-business. Smith has also held strategic positions at Skila Inc. as account director, Knoll Pharmaceuticals as medical sales representative and with Crysalis and Royal Mark – all based in New Jersey, where she resides.
Pharmaceutical prescribing behavior firm ImpactRx has announced organizational changes to its senior management team. Gregory Gallo, EVP, has been appointed head of business development. In this expanded role, Gallo will have lead responsibility for the company's business development and account management functions. Jill Mundinger Walton has been promoted to VP- general manager of ImpactRx's oncology business unit. Walton succeeds Gallo in this position.
