LifeBrands, part of the Publicis Healthcare Communications Group, has named John Timmins as the agency's new managing director and Maris Schilling as SVP and creative director, both reporting directly to Lorraine Pastore, president. Timmins and Schilling will be responsible for LifeBrands' portfolio of clients, which includes Sanofi-Aventis, Schering-Plough, Merck, GlaxoSmithKline, Roche and Columbia Laboratories. Timmins replaces Linda Bennett, who now serves as regional coordinator for Publicis' Sanofi-Aventis accounts, and Schilling replaces Brett Lowell, who remains at the agency as group creative director on Schering-Plough and GSK. James Street, PhD, continues as scientific director. Prior to joining LifeBrands, Timmins was at Euro RSCG Life where he established Oncologix, a specialty agency dedicated to the promotion of oncology products. He led the launches of Celgene's novel oral compound Revlemid (lenalidomide) for multiple myeloma and myelodysplastic syndromes as well as Roche's Xeloda (capecitabine) for colorectal cancer.

HLS, the founding CommonHealth medical-education unit, announced five promotions and two new hires. Christine Archibald has advanced from VP, publication operations to VP, medical education and publication services. In her new position, Archibald will oversee the daily activities of the editorial, project coordination and the medical affairs departments. Archibald will also ensure each program component is completed within established timelines to meet client needs. David Murawski has been promoted from account manager, professional relations to account director, professional relations. Murawski will be responsible for leading account teams, managing client relationships and providing strategic direction for the implementation of communications initiatives. Murawski has been with HLS for two-and-a-half years. Jennifer Ostrow has been elevated from associate program director of publication operations to publications director. In her new role, she will plan, direct and monitor assigned publication plans and act as the liaison between authors, clients and internal team members. Ostrow has been with HLS for three-and-a-half years. Colleen Stanton has advanced from senior program director to group program director. In her new position, Stanton will manage and oversee program teams under her supervision, ensuring that client expectations are met. Jaclyn Burkart has been promoted from associate program director to account manager. Burkart will be responsible for day-to-day management of her assigned accounts and building long-term client relationships. Burkart has been with HLS for three years. Bela Engler joins HLS as a publications director. In this role, Engler will act as the liaison between clients and internal team members. She will also develop content for her assigned accounts and manage her team's budgets and schedules. Prior to joining HLS, Engler was a senior publications manager at medical communications company Embryon. Lisa Ryan, PhD, comes to HLS as a medical writer. In this position, Ryan will be analyzing data and medical publications, and writing copy for educational and promotional projects. Most recently, Ryan was an assistant professor at the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey.
