Survey shows cancer cause-effect awareness lacking

A survey by the American Institute for Cancer Research indicates that Americans fear cancer but are confused about its causes.

The American Journal of Accountable Care reports that the survey showed that many believe genetically modified foods, beef hormones and  stress are linked to the disease as opposed to known causes, which include obesity, diet and lack of physical activity.

AJAC says that an overwhelming percent — as in 94% and 84% — linked cancer with tobacco and sun exposure, respectively.
