PharmedOut, AMSA push guide

Two foes of commercially supported CME, the American Medical Student Association and PharmedOut.org, are partnering to present How to Hold Pharma-Free Meetings, a guide for students and others on hosting grand rounds, meetings or conferences untainted by biopharma company support. One option for cutting costs: forget the food. “It's a class, not a picnic,” said Georgetown's Tony Scialli, a PharmedOut team member. 

AMSA national president Michael Ehlert, MD offered: “By eradicating pharmaceutical companies from all gatherings, physicians will be able to go back to practicing evidence-based medicine.”
