Adolor's Entereg (alvimopan) is now available to registered hospitals for helping patients recover gastrointestinal function following bowel resection surgery. Entereg was approved by the FDA on May 20 and is also the first FDA-approved treatment for postoperative ileus, a condition that affects almost all patients undergoing this type of surgery.
