Lippincott’s Surgical Review Library App is making it easier for surgical residents to study whenever—and wherever— they get a chance. According to the publisher, the app combines the two best-selling review guides for surgical residents and includes Q&A versions of Greenfield’s Surgery and General Surgery Board Review. Its five test-prep modules can be purchased either as a set or individually. The modules are meant to be a study aid for certification, precertification and ABSITE.

A study published in the August edition of Health Communications found that a health ­practitioner’s Twitter credibility is weakened when HCPs retweet health content from a third party rather than writing original material of their own. The study also found that the more followers a HCP had, the more credible they appeared.

Elsevier announced in October that it has modified articles on ­ScienceDirect to make them easier to navigate. The changes include creating the pages in an interactive HTML format. The changes now enable researchers to do such things as download tables and view references with abstracts without losing their places in the current article.
