Sermo has entered into a strategic partnership with Janssen Global Services to develop mobile and web services allowing physicians to refer a patient for care while ensuring continuity in care. The offering will aim to “close the loop” for all care team members, said Sermo, allowing for greater coordination of care between primary care physicians and specialists, for example.
 
Henry Schein, Inc. launched BioTherapeutics Quarterly, a new journal designed to serve as a quick information source on the prevention, diagnosis and treatment of disease. The journal published in February and will be published again in May, August and November, with an online version in the works for sometime in 2012. Melville, NY-based Henry Schein also publishes the Xchange monthly e-newsletter for healthcare professionals.
 
Wolters Kluwer Pharma Solutions announced an open access publishing option for authors submitting original research articles to the Adis line of 16 pharmacology and pharmacotherapy journals. The journals were previously available only through pay per view or subscription, but researchers will now have access to much of the content, and for existing subscribers, it will be free additional content, said the firm.
